Having had a look through next weeks issue of TV and Satellite Week (other tv listings magazines available free via my local County Council library scheme), there isn't much going on in TV quiz world.
Saturday sees the long awaited return of Stars In Their Eyes on ITV at 7pm within inspired choice of Harry Hill hosting. It is up against The Voice on BBC1 which returns with a new judge, Rita Ora who may have pulled in some extra viewers based on what she wore (or didn't) on The One Show earlier this week. Either way, one of them will be recorded to watch later.
If you are an early bird at the weekends then at 6am Saturday is the vastly underrated Cleverdicks on Sky Atlantic and on 6am Sunday is the marvellous Interceptor on Challenge.
Sunday 7pm on ITV has a potentially funny show with a Family Misfortunes show. A good chance that you will hear Turkey as an answer during the programme.
C4 has a repeat of 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown at 10pm which will be worth watching for the comedy aspect rather than the potential of long words and great mental arithmetic.
Monday sees the big quiz hitters of University Challenge and Only Connect but at 10.40pm ITV you can see a part of Gameshow history as the first episode of The Cube is repeated. And on Watch, we see a new series of Masterchef New Zealand to feast the eyes with.
The only other series worthy of a mention is on Wednesday 8pm on TLC when the Aussie version of Beauty And The Geek is aired.
As I said not much happening but I do heartily recommend visiting www.bothersbar.co.uk on Saturday to follow their unique coverage of German show, Schlag Den Raab.
Enjoy your weekend and blog speed.
I am hoping this will include my appearance on The Chase in 2010. I forgot to set the Sky+ to record it and there was no ITV+1 or ITV Player in those days. So really hope to watch it again sometime. Some of the questions aren't futureproof but at least we should be able to answer these ones now!!
via the wonderful Challenge website.
We are pleased to confirm that The Chase is coming to Challenge!
From Monday 7th April at 8pm, tune in to watch The Chase Series 1 and 2.
Hosted by Bradley Walsh, contestants must answer general knowledge questions and play their tactics right in order to get themselves into the Final Chase, where they could win a cash pot worth thousands of pounds.
However, standing in the way is their common enemy, the Chaser, one of the finest quiz brains in the country. An intellectually dominating and supremely self-confident quiz genius, they will chase contestants down the board in a tense and thrilling test of knowledge to try to catch them and throw them out of the game.
The Chase isn't just a quiz; it's a race, where the contestants must avoid being caught by the Chaser.
Stay ahead of the Chaser and they share the pot; get caught and they lose the lot!
New Challenge Gameshow "Timeline" hosted by Brian "It's A Puppet" Conley are after contestants.
If you are feeling lucky, the application form is here - the advert was found on www.beonscreen.com
Sadly, I'm not eligible to appear due to my Breakaway appearance in October last year (anyone appearing on TV since September 2012 shouldn't apply).
Fill yer boots!!
